The Call Of God To Repentance & Restoration Isaiah Chapter 36:1-7
• Isa. 36:1 Here we see King Sennacherib of Assyria made a move to attack the fortified cities of Judah. Fortified means (of a place) provided with defensive works as protection against attack. Sennacherib was permitted to conquer those cities of Judah. This happens to God's children sometimes. Having prayed, fasted, trusted God some evil things still happen. Please note that all such evil works are of the devil and when God allows them, they always end up as a testimony to His glory. Rom 8:28
The Call Of God To Repentance & Restoration Isaiah Chapter 36:1-7
• Isa. 36:2-6 Sennacherib of Assyria was taunting Judah for trusting in Egypt. Even the Assyrians knew that Egypt could not help Judah. Hezekiah put great trust in Pharaoh's promise to help Israel against the Assyrians, but promises are only as good as the credibility of the person making them. It was Pharaoh's word against God's. How quickly we seek human advice while we neglect God's eternal promises. When choosing between God's Word and someone else's, whose will you believe?
The Call Of God To Repentance & Restoration Isaiah Chapter 36:1-7
• Isa. 36:7 The Assyrian king's chief of staff claimed that Hezekiah had insulted God by tearing down his altars and making the people worship only in Jerusalem. But Hezekiah's reform sought to eliminate idol worship (which occurred mainly on high hills) so that the people worshiped only the true God. The Assyrians' accusation of Hezekiah was false. In the same way, Satan tries to confuse or deceive us. People don't necessarily need to be sinful to be ineffective for God; they need only be confused about what God wants. To avoid Satan's deceit, study God's Word carefully and regularly. When you know what God says, you will not fall for Satan's lies.
Personal Supplication
Father in the name of Jesus, may I not fall into deception. Help me seek the truth - Your word and hold on to it tightly in all circumstances. Prov 23:23 NLT
23 Get the truth and never sell it; also get wisdom, discipline, and good judgment.
Daily Protection Covenant Declaration
Because I dwell in the secret place of the most High, I shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover me with his feathers, and under his wings shall I trust: his truth shall be my shield and buckler. I shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shall I behold and see the wicked rewarded.
Because I have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation;
There shall no evil befall me neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling.
For God shall give his angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet.
Because I have set my love upon God, therefore will He deliver me: He will set me on high, because I have known His name.
I shall call upon Him, and He will answer me: He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me, and honour me.
With long life will God satisfy me, and shew me His salvation.
So shall it be for me and my household today and forever, Amen and Amen!
