Tom Brady's first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a smashing success, culminating in his seventh Lombardi Trophy and fifth Super Bowl MVP award.
The GOAT seemed to want to stay around for a long time as well.
Brady stated in a recent interview with Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, that his experience with the Bucs has far exceeded his expectations, and that he intends to stay in Tampa for a long time.
“Whatever I thought I was getting into, it’s been so much better,” Brady said. “As good as I could’ve envisioned, it’s been even more enjoyable than that. It’s pretty much a different life than being in the Northeast.
I had a great 20 years and I never want to take away from that. Also, this experience has been amazing. (Tampa’s) a great-kept secret.
It’s a small city Everything is close. The airport is close. Work is close. We live on the water.”
“Hopefully, I’ll be here a long time, For many years.
Brady signed a two-year deal last offseason, and already added a new extension this year that keeps him under contract at least through the 2022 season.
After throwing for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns last season at 43 years old, there’s no reason to believe Brady will be on the decline anytime soon.
